Mike Herman has been helping homeowners enhance the beauty and function of their homes for many years.
Benefiting from the relationships Mike had established with area interior designers and home builders, the business grew quickly. He’d proven he could deliver premium quality shutters and blinds to fit virtually any budget. Mike used only American resources and building supplies, and his team builds every shutter in his Omaha factory to order. It was an immediate hit and became Omaha’s leading plantation shutter manufacturer and remains so to this day.
Who is this Marco fellow?
Mike and Linda are often asked to introduce Marco, and they smile. Marco isn’t a person, it’s a place — Marco Island off the coast of Florida — the Herman family’s favorite getaway destination. They decided that the shutters and closets they wanted to provide for their customers would deliver the kind of delight and peace of mind that they experienced at Marco Island. What better name for their company product than Marco.

Time to Grow Again
In 2009, Mike and Linda decided to add another division to their Marco brand: Marco Closets and Storage Solutions. They would rely on the experience of their established team of craftsmen to design and build custom closets and storage systems for the Omaha market.
To assure the highest level of customer satisfaction, Mike meets with clients himself, examines their goals and lifestyles, and then designs solutions to help them reclaim their living space while improving the efficiency and organization of their storage and utility areas.

A former high school teacher and coach, Mike spent the next phase of his career learning the window covering business, and soon became production manager for a major window and blind manufacturer.
In the fall of 2000 Mike and his wife Linda decided they were ready to launch their own company and it would be Marco Shutters, a wholesale fabricator of indoor plantation shutters.
